A producer of ‘Basketball Wives’, on which Shaunie stars, reveals that she’s ready to give her ex-husband a second chance after knowing that the former NBA player is serious about reconciling with her.
Shaquille O’Neal is reportedly getting back together with his ex-wife Shaunie, months after they sparked reconciliation rumors. Sources claim that the former spouses, who have remained close friends since their split in 2009, are working to give their failed romance another chance. The 47-year-old former professional athlete has allegedly been trying to win Shaunie back for years, but it’s not until recently that she’s open to the possibility of them being together again.
Two producers on “Basketball Wives“, on which Shaunie stars, tells MTO News that Shaunie and Shaquille are “working on things.” One of the sources says, “Shaunie wasn’t taking Shaq’s flirting seriously, she thought he was joking. But now that she knows he’s serious [about reconciling] she’s giving him a second chance.”
Shaquille and Shaunie got married on December 26, 2002 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. They have four children together, Shareef Rashaun (born 2000), Amirah Sanaa (born 2001), Shaqir Rashaun (born 2003) and Me’arah Sanaa (born 2006). Shaunie also has a son, Myles, from a previous relationship, while Shaquille O’Neal has a daughter, Taahirah, with his former girlfriend Arnetta Yardbourgh.
The couple first separated after five years of marriage in September 2007, but reconciled shortly after. In November 2009, however, Shaunie filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Last year, Shaquille gave a shout-out to Shaunie and paid tribute to their wedding when launching a suit line through JCPenney for big and tall men. “This is the same suit I’m wearing when I marry @shaunieoneal5,” he wrote along with a picture of him in the formal attire, while holding a red flower. Shaunie replied to his post, “Actually this suit is more fitting for next seasons star of The Bachelor on @abcnetwork #justsayin #wedidthatalready.”
In June of this year, the two sparked reconciliation rumors after they were spotted getting playfully cozy during a family dinner at Mastro’s Restaurant in Beverly Hills. The former basketball player was seen giving the “Basketball Wives” star a bear hug when she tried to photograph her ex-husband.
