Is Kate Middleton Santa Claus? Because we’re a mere five days into December, and she’s already gifted us with not one, not two, but now three killer duchess-worthy looks, putting a dash of holiday cheer into each and every one of them.
Her fashion tour continued Wednesday morning, but instead of reaching for her usual uniform — A-line skirts, usually in blue — she threw her fans a curve ball. The Duchess of Cambridge traded in dresses (and coat dresses) for a fitted forest green Smythe blazer ($695; saks.com) and a pair of wide-legged pants.
It’s basically a fashion breakthrough for her. It has been ages since we last saw Middleton reach for pants for a royal event, and her spin on them has her looking like the high-power professional we know she is.
Her blazer also perfectly fit the Christmas-friendly color scheme she’s been going with lately. Clearly, she’s feeling particularly holly and jolly, with only 20 days to go until the holiday.
Kate wore the look while out with her husband Prince William on a visit to RAF Akrotiri, in Akrotiri, Cyprus. They were visiting the island base to meet Royal Air Force personnel serving there, spreading Christmas cheer as they went.
They’re basically Christmas elves at this point. All they need are Santa hats. If only they knew a fellow royal who could lend them one …
